System Software Engineer for Enable Networks, a PARC Spin-out (Palo Alto, CA)

Enable Networks is a venture funded spinout of the Palo Alto Research Center (PARC), providing networking OEMs with a revolutionary cloud-based software platform capable of managing on-premise networking devices simply and reliably from anywhere. Product launch is imminent in partnership with large OEM. This is a unique opportunity to join a brilliant start-up while leveraging the research and innovation exposure of PARC.

Enable Networks is actively seeking a proven systems software engineer with extensive Web 2.0 programming and network management experience to develop leading edge wireless technology for a market-changing commercial solution.

Candidates must have a proven track record of bringing network management products to market, best if Wi-Fi related. You will play a key role in the design and development of online software to configure, manage and secure smart network devices.

Requirements:
• Passionate in the pursuit of optimal user experience.
• Familiarity with modern web services frameworks, MVC and mashup/collaboration mechanisms.
• Minimum of 8+ years experience of web application development.
• Proficiency with Java programming, Django and Python
• Proficiency in database design and application data connectivity. MySQL mastery is paramount.
• Familiarity with front-end HTML coding and template-based tools like jQuery, Ajax, JavaScript, CSS
• Experience with open-source web server Apache
• Strong communication skill and team-work orientation.
• Proven ability to be creative and resourceful in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• B.S. in Computer Science or related field, advanced degree preferred.

Desired skills:
• Experience with embedded Linux and wireless device firmware development.
• Experience with cloud computing environments
• Knowledge of Google Map API and FusionCharts
• Experience with implementation of on-line payments systems
• Front-end web interface design
